Communications and Community Engagement Fellow
As Fellow, Ayanna is focused on building accessible resources for credit building across media platforms. She is also facilitating relationships with community partners and financial institutions to promote credit building workshops and build institutional knowledge of capacity building tools available to partners.
Previously, Ayanna served as the Youth Advocate/Program Coordinator for the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless (RICH) - Home to Hope, an initiative addressing youth housing instability and homelessness. In this role, Ayanna managed the implementation of an integrated model of youth focused street outreach, case management and advocacy that included training and supporting outreach workers, conducting street outreach, and partnership building. Prior to joining RICH, Ayanna gained experience with community engagement serving in various roles at The Center's youth program in New York City to create a safe, inclusive and affirming environment to foster relationships, personal and professional skills and the evolution of identity. She also has experience with education and youth development having taught middle school English and instructed out-of-school programming throughout Rhode Island.
